Hockey Fights Cancer is a joint initiative of the NHL and NHLPA. Founded in 1998, the HFC initiative powered by the V Foundation presented by AstraZeneca has raised more than $44 million, including $12 million over the last two years. HFC unites the hockey community to support cancer patients and their families, while helping fund live saving cancer research.

V Foundation ensures 100% of all direct donations it receives goes directly towards cancer research.
The National Hockey League (NHL), the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) and the V Foundation have teamed up to accelerate the pace of cancer research through Hockey Fights Cancer™.
AstraZeneca is committed to redefining cancer by following the science to understand cancer and all its complexities to discover, develop, and deliver potentially life-changing treatments and increase the potential to save lives. In partnership with the NHL and NHLPA, AstraZeneca launched its Get Body Checked Against Cancer public health campaign to educate and empower hockey fans to talk to their doctor about cancer risk factors and potential cancer screenings right for them.
Alex has partnered with the Capitals, Hockey Fights Cancer™, and the V Foundation to support pediatric cancer research through THE GR8 CHASE for Victory Over Cancer®. For every regular season goal he scores for the rest of his career, Alex will donate to the cause, with donations matched by Monumental Sports & Entertainment. All proceeds go directly to lifesaving childhood cancer research.
Hockey Fights Cancer also remains committed to improving the lives of those who are currently battling this terrible disease, by supporting the Canadian Cancer Society and their Patient Support programs.
